The stats YOU quoted state :

65.4 percent were anti-Jewish.13.2 percent were anti-Islamic.

Jews are FAR more likely to suffer faith based hatred than muslims.

Wow, if this is the state of education in the US, then the US is in serious trouble.

Kristyroberts didn't even take the time to get upto speed on the current facts of this case..... instead she rambles on about hate crimes and hate crime stats, being completely oblivuous to the fact the the police now suspect this this was an issue of domestic violence and the 'hate crime' not eas put there to throw them off the track ! The family is in Iraq and is unlikely to return to the US.

You twit, the hijab or race had nothing to do with her murder, not matter how hard you wish it were so.

And you are only partly right about the lack of media attention to this story.

UNTIL it was believed to be a hate crime, the media was all over it like white on bread.

When it began to appear that it wasn't actually a hate crime, media suddenly felt it wasn't worth talking about anymore.

How could anyone who is reporting on this case possibly miss the latest developments? Who reports on a story without following that story? It's beyond incompetence.

Hi Jerry, Thanks for the heads up. We went ahead and read the article on the update here: http://www.jewishjournal.co... Apparently, we weren't the only ways that missed it. It supports the case that the public is not talking about it as much as the Treyvon Martin, if at all.

Reading the details shows that brings to light a new yet horrible facet that still needs to be discussed.

Where have you been ? For over a week now the majority of reporters are saying Alawadi's own family are the main suspects. The only debate is whether it was an Honour Killing or just a family murder.

Actually, Bethany, you got it wrong, too.

The statistic is actually stating that 91% of the single parents of BLACK children were mothers. All this means is that 9 out of 10 heads of single-parent households were women. It does not mean what the OP states (91% of black mothers were single) nor what you state (91% of single mothers are black).

old news but your data is pretty incorrect here:

"In 2006, 91.4 percent of single parents of black children were mothers. That figure hasn't changed over the years. In 1960, it was a shade lower at 91 percent" is what the article states.

This is what you state: It is estimated that 91.4% of black mothers are single mothers.

Stating that 91 percent of black mothers being single is a very different statistic than stating, out of the pool of mothers who are single, 91 percent of them are black...

I prefer to use the term undocumented, especially since it has now become the most politically correct term. I am of the belief that no human is illegal. While it technically is illegal to be in this country without proper documentation, I think using "undocumented" more accurately describes the person's status in this country.

I'm Dominican and have always gone to Dominican salons to get my curls straightened with a wash, set and blowdry. Never has my hair beeb damaged and, in actuality, my hair is healthier when I do go to the salon instead of doing it on my own. I'm happy to learn that Dominican salons are now being established everywhere!
